This project was co-funded by the European Solidarity Corps program and the US Embassy of Prague.
The European Union’s European Solidarity Corps volunteering program
Supports solidarity projects, which are organized at a local level. Solidarity projects help young people to realize their ideas and projects that aim to improve the situation in their community or have a positive impact on a particular group of people. The Language Tandem is also a Solidarity Project. The tandem is run by volunteers who take care of social networks, keep items of our inventory in good condition, are present during opening hours and organize events for the public. You can read more about the European Solidarity Corps on the website of the National Agency “Dům zahraniční spolupráce” or the European Youth Portal. You can also read article from Mladiinfo ČR, which is responsible for the Language Tandem.
The US Embassy of Prague
The embassy also supported this project through their Small Grants Program. Through the Public Affairs Section (PAS) Small Grants Program, the U.S. Embassy in Prague funds projects that reinforce and strengthen the shared values between the Czech and American people as well as promote the understanding and appreciation of American culture and policies. You can read more about this program here.
